About SEALIFE Sunshine Coast

SEALIFE Sunshine Coast is situated in the sunny city of Mooloolaba. Having access to the Ocean, we here have a semi-open system.

The request: “Do your thing… find where we can improve our Life Support System performance and give us a rough calculations how much we can save on energy.”

And so we did..

The first ideas for savings and more are now being implemented and so savings are on its way.

Having access to unlimited fresh seawater directly is a dream for many aquariums. And indeed, such a resource can be a genuine advantage. Yet it can also introduce risks when operational standards become overly dependent on this seemingly effortless, almost cost‑free input. External seawater quality is not guaranteed, and when it becomes compromised, the entire system is suddenly exposed. In those moments, the strength of the Life Support System’s design and its operation remains essential, proving that a well‑engineered LSS is the true safeguard for long‑term stability.
